The Bourke Hotel

I liked the hotel from the moment the cab dropped me off in the hotel grounds. Set in a quiet nook with trees, the place has character. The room is big, well-furnished, has a powerful aircon, and is very clean (including the bathroom). I like the breakfasts that I had at the Bramble cafe & bakery. An upscale Australian-owned restaurant adds a touch of class. The hotel is easy to spot more than a block away because of the old trees that mark its presence--a green oasis in Poblacion!

Location is a 10! It is very quiet. I slept like I was at home - an indication of how comfortable it was for me. The breakfast was EXCELLENT! I was with my senior parents, and they offered to have their breakfast served in their room so that they don't have to walk to the cafe. All of the staff are great. I am surprised I have not heard of this hotel before. We were supposed to stay at a family room, however, it was under renovation. They booked us to 2 rooms instead, at a much lower price. Customer service of this hotel is excellent!

Great hotel with restaurant, super comfy beds and big spacious room with a small fridge and complimentary breakfast and snacks Friendly staff. Room was exactly like in the pictures.

The breakfast was excellent with many choices. The Room is very spacious with nice lounging chair, desk, and equipped with a very nice big screen HDTV great for watching movies. Room Service and turn down service was excellent and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Nice and secured.

The people were warm, hospitable, and caring. They were responsive and would take several initiatives to make you feel welcome. I also found the noise-insulated room homey, spacious, and well cleaned/maintained. It smelled fresh instead of being old or sterile, and had a personality that you wouldn't often get from usual hotels. It is conveniently located near urban hot spots in Davao, and for those preferring a work-at-home set-up, food deliveries are accessible with a wide food option. There's also Bondi & Bourke, a casual restaurant nearby, which provides the delicious complementary breakfast. The internet speeds was fairly okay throughout my stay, with a few hiccups in between. In terms of security, it is cuddled in a compound with security personnel. It's also accessible for persons with disability, though the elevator might be narrow for those using bulky wheelchairs. Great showers, with most hygiene items available for free, and a wide working desk which was my favorite. Definitely my go-to stay in Davao!
